Starting on May 26th, Call of Duty: WWII will be available to download as part of PS Plus. With the start of a new month, Sony is preparing to announce all the new games coming their PS Plus subscription. Normally, PS Plus games launch on the first Tuesday of a new month, but Sony has a little surprise. The company announced that effective May 26th, Call of Duty: WWII will be available to download for its subscribers. There isn't any news as far as other games to come, but WWII being free is a great surprise to be sure.
Call of Duty‘s World War II step back received some harsh criticism as compared to other in the series. However, the multiplayer and zombie modes are definitely something to give a try if you have a PS Plus subscription. Some rumors are also claiming Marvel’s Spider-Man might be part June’s PS Plus lineup. Call of Duty is big, but with the addition of Spider-Man, Sony would be entering a whole new territory of awesome. Of course, these are all just rumors and leaks and until the game lineup is officially released, don't take this as fact just yet.
Its also good to mention that Microsoft gives Xbox Game Pass subscribers every first-party title as part of the service. With the next-gen of hardware coming out, it might be more of a war against services than the consoles themselves. Sony might may be preparing to offer a similar service that Xbox Game Pass offers, but again, none of this is confirmed. We are looking forward though to Sony's big announcements in the coming weeks.
PS Plus members can download Call of Duty: WWII on May 26, with the full PS Plus lineup announcement for June coming soon.
