Destiny 2 is gearing up for their next big update which will be revealed on June 9. Bungie recently confirmed that the game will showcase its next major update by posting a teaser for it on their Instagram. The developers uploaded a video teasing the "next chapter," which features Eris Morn trudging through a frost bitten landscape that fans have speculated is Europa. Below, you can find the video and watch it.
Morn's presence in the teaser suggests that the next update will steer heavily in the direction of "The Darkness". This would be a truly unique update if that's so, as we don't know all that much about what the Darkness is, and finally having an explanation might allow us to understand the lore much better.
Included in the teaser is a link to Bungie’s Destiny 2 site that’s been set up ahead of the reveal. You can sign up for email updates for Destiny 2’s next chapter reveal and can even download a calendar reminder for when to tune in, but that's it for now. Some community members may remember that this reveal date was leaked in the past. A teaser shared through the game’s other social media accounts pointed to a June 9th reveal but was removed not long afterwards, so it looks like this was all planned after all.
There is a chance this Destiny 2 reveal may not happen on June 9th as planned. Widespread unrest and protests in the United States in response to the death of George Floyd and other Black individuals at the hands of law enforcement agencies have prompted many companies to postpone their events until later dates. Some companies like Sony and CD Projekt Red have already done so, but stay tuned for more information.
