EA (Electronic Arts) has confirmed that Titanfall 3 is not in active development for any platform. This confirmation comesfrom Respawn Entertainment boss Vince Zampella, who stated that the franchise is on hold, at least for now. According to Zampella, the Titanfall series lives on in spirit via Apex Legends, but he also says that he wants to be able to return to Titanfall and continue the story.
“There’s nothing currently in development,” said Zampella “But it’s always there. You see the little bits of stuff coming back [through the lore in Apex Legends]. At some point, I would personally like to see some kind of resurrection there. We’ll see if I can make that happen.”
Apex Legends is still going strong and with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order poised to be turned into a trilogy, Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment is busy these days. Thats a fancy way of saying that the game has been shelved until further notice. We do want to note that Titanfall 2 presented a fantastic campaign and its multiplayer was polished and felt very smooth. However, some hoped that EA's new studio, DICE LA would take over the shooter franchise. Unfortunately, it isn't, however, it will be a studio dedicated to shooters, or at least for now it is.
Titanfall 3 won't be revealed anytime soon, but Zampella did tease that Respawn may have something to reveal at EA Play this June.
