Ubisoft’s massive multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Siege is one of this generations biggest games. Originally launching in a poor state, the developers came back with multiple updates and fixes over the years, making it one of, if not the best games in the genre. Now, after years of updates and amassing players, the game has hit an all new milestone.
In a recent financial briefing from Ubisoft the company confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege has amassed over 60 million players. This a huge increase from the 55 million players that were present last year. The game saw over a billion session days over the course of the 2019-2020 fiscal year, and also enjoyed record engagement levels over the fourth quarter of the period (January 2020-March 2020). The game also saw a 26% increase in PRI in the same period.
However, amassing 60 million players doesn't mean the game has sold 60 million copies. With game sharing and the like also accounting for registered players, regardless, the amount of people is still amazing. Ubisoft also confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege is one of 11 games they have released this console generation that have sold over 10 million copies.
Rainbow Six Siege’s is releasing a new event, Operation Steel Wave, and is currently being teased with release coming soon. The game is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will also be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.
