Rare the creators behind the game Sea of Thieves, is setting sails for Steam this June. Since the games release in 2018, Sea of Thieves has become a popular multiplayer game across the Xbox and PC community. To date, the game has gathered over 10 million players across Xbox One and PC while providing new updates and content to players. With an already large player base, it's about to get even bigger with their release to Steam this June.
Developer Rare announced that Sea of Thieves will officially release on June 3, 2020 on Steam. The game has been teasing the release to steam for quite some time, so its very exciting to be able to finally see it get a release date.
According to Rare, the game will cost $39.99on the Steam marketplace. Rare has also confirmed that cross-play functions between Xbox One PC and Steam will be fully compatible, so you can play with your friends on any of the devices. Progression will also transfer between devices as long as you use your Xbox Live login to do so.
Sea of Thieves had a mixed start, it had a promising idea, great style, and plenty of social features. At times though, the game felt repetitive and often tedious to do tasks. However, Sea of Thieves saw a drastic change to the gameplay mechanics. The developers released numerous content updates and new expansions, and also changed and enhanced large parts of the game.
